Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and confident Phlebotomist & IV Practitioner to join our growing private healthcare clinic in Halifax.

This role is ideal for someone with strong venepuncture skills who is confident working independently with patients in a professional clinical environment. Experience with IV cannulation is highly desirable, and therapeutic venesection experience is advantageous although training can be provided for the right candidate.

We are looking for somebody calm, patient focused and clinically safe who takes pride in delivering a high standard of care and maintaining a premium patient experience.

Main Responsibilities

Perform venepuncture and blood collection procedures safely and confidently

Carry out IV cannulation and support IV wellness services

Support therapeutic venesection appointments

Monitor patients during and after procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or vasovagal episodes

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

Follow infection control procedures and maintain high clinical standards

Provide a calm and reassuring experience for nervous or anxious patients

Support smooth day to day clinic operations and patient flow

Requirements

Previous phlebotomy experience essential

IV cannulation experience highly desirable

Therapeutic venesection experience desirable but not essential

Strong communication and patient care skills

Ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure

Confident working independently within clinic protocols

Experience in private healthcare, outpatient clinics, GP surgeries, hospital settings, infusion clinics or similar environments is advantageous
