Job Introduction

Newly Qualified Social Worker – Assessed and Supported Year in Employment

If this is you then we would love you to join likeminded social workers in Bradford Children’s services who are willing to go that extra mile every day to support others who, at that time, need it.

Bradford is a city that has a richness of culture and diversity and is unlike other surrounding city’s; this means that the social work experience is varied and unique with the opportunity to work with lots of different communities with all the rewards and challenges that brings.

We understand the importance of having Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) as part of our established workforce to ensure that there is a succession of passionate individuals working with our children, young people and their families.

We also understand that for you to be able to do your job you need to be supported and given the space and time to learn how to do this well through practical experience, learning and development opportunities, good supervision and opportunities to reflect. We introduced the Bradford ASYE Academy in 2022 to increase the learning and development opportunities available for our NQSWs.

You will sit within the academy for the first 3 months of employment whilst also being linked to your host team.

We also have Practice Supervisors who work with our ASYE’s within the teams to offer dedicated support and are the ASYE assessor; we have a dedicated ASYE Practice Lead who has oversight of the Academy.

Alongside NQSWs who are looking for their first role we are also accepting applications from students on their final placements to start in our later Academy’s. We will start you as a Community Resource Worker when you finish your qualification but waiting for your Social Worker England registration.

We can offer you the opportunity to work in our fast paced Duty and Assessment Service, our busy energetic Child and Family Service including with children with Complex Health and Disabilities, our Children in Care Teams we want to match you with your interest and passion.
