The Role:
We are looking for a People Advisor to join our team on a part time basis (16 hours per week) for an initial 6 months to job share with our existing People Advisor. The role is site based and is required to work Thursdays and Friday's each week. We could consider more hours for an exceptional candidate but this would need to be either a full or half day on a Wednesday each week. This role could also go permanent for the right candidate.
Reporting to our amazing People Partner, the role will be to ensure an outstanding service is provided across the organisation by delivering credible HR advice and guidance in a timely and effective manner, whilst maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity. The post holder will act as a trusted adviser to the business, providing proactive and solution-focused advice on complex employee relations matters, workforce planning, performance management, and organisational change. By building strong professional relationships, the People Adviser will contribute to creating positive working environments that support staff wellbeing and effective leadership.
What youll do:
- To act as the first point of contact to provide advice and solutions to managers on employee relations matters. Including, working arrangements, contractual matters, sickness/absence management, employee communication and consultation, in line with current legislation.
- Respond to a wide range of enquiries relating to People issues/administration in a professional manner, to ensure that internal stakeholders receive timely, accurate and valuable advice.
- To draft template letters in relation to any informal/formal meetings relating to ER cases, attending meetings/hearings as deemed necessary.
- Work in conjunction with colleagues in the People Team to ensure a smooth and consistent service is provided
- Deliver a range of HR activities within identified areas of work and support the work of other members of the People Team
- Actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the People Team, undertaking specific projects to embed consistency and best practice.
- Keep professionally up to date with people management trends and initiatives locally and nationally, identifying how they may impact on local service requirements and delivery or be utilised to improve efficiency.
- To help maintain our HR information management system (PeopleHR) and confidently analyse reports, identifying key points.
- Offer accurate interpretation, advice, application and representation to clients on employment legislation, best practice and policies and procedures in relation to and in the context of clients policies and procedures on a range of People matters.
Youll thrive here if:
- Youve got at least CIPD Level 3 and solid generalist HR experience - ideally in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment, preferably in food or fresh produce but not essential.
- You know your stuff when it comes to UK employment law and ER - but you dont use it to scare people
- Youre confident, credible and comfortable working with everyone from MDs to our wonderful operational colleagues
- Youre ridiculously organised and self-motivated
