We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transportation routes and ensuring efficient logistics operations. This position requires strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities and a solid understanding a supply chain management.
As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to the overall success of our logistics strategy, while providing exceptional customer service and reporting to the Operations Manager.
Duties
· Develop and implement efficient transport plans to optimise delivery routes and schedules for 35 artic vehicles.
· Liaise regularly with drivers and obtain efficient bookings.
· Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports for management review.
· Communicate with customers to provide updates on delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
· Communication of the plan with all drivers to ensure the drivers are in place at the correct times for loading and delivering.
· Briefing and debriefing of drivers on the current day/night plans.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations across the operation.
· Utilise IT systems and software, including Office 365 and our TMS, to manage schedules, documentation and communications effectively.
· Leaving a detailed handover for the opposite planner.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in logistics or transport planning is required.
· Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
· A customer service – oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
· Knowledge of transport regulations and best practices is advantageous, but not essential.

Shift Pattern: 07:00 – 17:00 or 08:00 to 18:00 including on call services, one week in three, with one in three Saturday mornings in the office.
