Kitchen Assistant – Term Time Only

Ideal School Meals supplies a range of catering services to primary schools across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly Sleaford team. Own transport is essential.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the preparation and delivery of school meals while helping to maintain high standards throughout the kitchen environment.

Duties will include:

Food preparation and cooking
Washing up and cleaning duties
Packing away deliveries
General kitchen support
Delivering meals to schools during periods of high demand or staff absence

Applicants should be flexible between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm and able to cover a variety of shifts as required.

This is a term time only position.

Are you our ideal candidate?

You will:

Understand the importance of food hygiene and take pride in maintaining a clean and organised working environment
Have good written English and numeracy skills
Be friendly, approachable, and possess excellent customer service skills

Existing food safety training would be an advantage; however, full training will be provided on our internal food safety management systems and cooking methods.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. Suitability to work with children will form part of the selection process.

This role requires:

An enhanced DBS check
A Children’s Barred List check
Two previous employer references

Pay: £12.71 per hour
