Darlington Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Civic Enforcement Officer to join our Community Safety Team.

This is a full-time role (37 hours per week), working a 4 days on / 4 days off rolling rota across a 7-day week.
As a Civic Enforcement Officer, you will play a vital role in helping to keep our communities safe and welcoming. Your work will focus on supporting public safety, encouraging responsible behaviour, and ensuring local spaces are accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by engaging with the public, promoting community safety, and helping to maintain high standards across Darlington.
You will act as a key point of contact for reports of anti-social behaviour, environmental offences, and wider community safety concerns across Darlington, responding to and investigating incidents, providing support to those affected while using effective communication skills to deescalate potentially volatile situations.
In addition, you will patrol parking areas across Darlington to address nuisance parking, ensuring compliance with regulations and issuing notices for contraventions in line with enforcement procedures.
You will need a City and Guilds 1889/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Car Parking Enforcement or alternatively a commitment to obtain the qualification within a reasonable timeframe of commencing in the post.
A full driving licence is required to drive Council vehicles and approximately one years' experience of dealing with the public.
