This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the East Midlands Region Homelessness Prevention Team (HPT). HPTs were established as an emergency response to Covid 19 and reviews have highlighted the significant benefits of the model in addressing the long-term challenges in securing good quality accommodation and wraparound support for our service users. HPT’s have a role to play in the greater vision of developing sustainable accommodation options that can link with suitable support networks to help PoP’s maintain their accommodation and access the services that will help them move away from offending and integrate positively in their local communities.
As the Homeless Prevention Strategic Team Lead you will:
- Lead on the implementation and delivery of CAS3 in the East Midlands.
- Be accountable to senior managers on the performance of the East Midlands CAS3 scheme.
- Identify and manage key risks and issues.
- Operate as the East Midlands HPT Single Point of Contact for internal and external East Midlands stakeholders.
- Be responsible for all East Midlands HPT reporting systems including the CAS3 digital solution.
- Provide good quality reports to senior managers and other key stakeholders including the Central HPT.
- Work collaboratively with Contract Management Team colleagues to manage performance and relationships with CAS3 service providers.
- Provide advice to senior managers and oversight of complex cases including high risk of harm cases and sexual offenders.
- Liaise with regional HPT and Performance and Quality colleagues to maintain and produce regular data and reports.
- Line Management of Band 5 HPT managers and other staff as required.
- Work collaboratively with other colleagues to manage complex relationships including Local Housing Authorities and other key stakeholders.
- Report to senior managers.
- Operate financial accounts.
This role will be 18.5 hours a week

Working Arrangements & Further Information
The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements w business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.
Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.
Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid. HMPPS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, w they meet the demands of the role and business needs. Annual Leave
