Full job description

Auto-Sleepers Solidworks Draughtsman

We are seeking a detail-oriented SolidWorks CAD Designer to create, modify, and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models for engineering and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SolidWorks, a solid understanding of mechanical design principles, and experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs on schedule

Key Responsibilities:

· Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks

· Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation

· Perform design modifications and revisions based on engineering feedback

· Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with industry standards

· Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

· Support prototype development and product testing

Skills:

Proficiency in SolidWorks with a strong portfolio demonstrating previous draughtsmanship work
Solid understanding of engineering principles
Ability to interpret technical sketches, blueprints, and schematics accurately
Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in drafting and modelling

This role is ideal for a dedicated professional eager to contribute their CAD expertise within a forward-thinking organisation committed to quality and innovation.

The successful candidate would report directly to the CNC & Press Shop, Prep & Drawing Office Manager.

Hours of Work are 7.30am till 5-00pm Monday to Thursday and 7-30am until 12-30pm on Friday.

Salary: £30,000.00 per year
