The role:
The Crisis Service will provide a comprehensive multi-agency team approach of care, rapidly responding to people in acute psychiatric distress, until the crisis has been resolved and the service user is linked to on going care.
This will be delivered on the basis of least restrictive alternative and minimum disruption to the lives of service users, and offer a credible alternative to hospitalisation, whenever possible.
This will take due note of the supports available and the needs of carers involved in the informal care of service users intensive support and interventions to clients and carers prior to and following discharge from hospital, and will include service users who are on temporary leave from hospital through, for example, suspension of detention. This will include service users from the CHCP catchment area who may be temporarily cared for within in service user facilities out with the CHCP boundary.

Key responsibilities:
The postholder is responsible for delivering highquality, personcentred care through the full clinical cycle of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They will manage their own caseload, ensure timely processing of referrals, and act as a knowledgeable resource for referrers and colleagues.
Core responsibilities include:
Clinical Practice: Providing specialist psychiatric input, coordinating care, promoting health and wellbeing, and responding to a wide range of individual needs including safeguarding concerns. Maintaining therapeutic, culturally sensitive relationships with service users and carers.
Interagency Collaboration: Liaising with internal and external professionals, voluntary organisations, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences.
Quality, Safety and Governance: Maintaining accurate written and electronic records, producing reports, complying with legislation and organisational policies, and supporting safe practice and environmental risk management.
Service Development and Evaluation: Contributing to service review, audit, user/carer satisfaction monitoring, and initiating improvements in care delivery and practice.
Education, Training and Professional Development: Supporting students and junior staff through supervision, mentoring, and induction. Delivering training to internal and external groups and ensuring practice is informed by current research and evidence.
Leadership and Role Modelling: Demonstrating professional behaviours, supporting practice development, and promoting best value through effective partnership working.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Completion of training as a first level registered nurse in mental health with a currently valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or an Occupational therapist registered with the Health Professions Council or Social Worker registered with SSSC

Significant post registration experience, with experience of the mental health sector preferably community

Experience of supervising junior staff which may include qualified staff
