The role:
Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as an Advanced Speech & Language Therapist within our specialist Neuro-rehabilitation service, where you will play a vital role in transforming lives across our communities. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will deliver expert assessment and intervention to adults with complex communication and swallowing needs.

Please note you will need to have a relevant first-level degree (usually BSc) or equivalent with professional membership and registration with HCPC.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Duration : Permanent
Location: Maryhill Health Centre
Hours: Full-time (36 hours) or Part-time (up to 32 hours)
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday (09:00-17:00), Part time hours also arranged accordingly.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver highly specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties

Manage and prioritise an independent caseload while acting as key worker to coordinate multidisciplinary care
-
Provide expert clinical advice, training and consultancy to colleagues, carers and partner agencies
-
Lead and contribute to service development, audit and research activity to enhance patient care
-
Supervise and support junior staff, assistants and students, promoting continuous professional development
-
Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans and evaluate outcomes across diverse community settings
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure person-centred, coordinated care
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy with HCPC registration and membership of RCSLT

Postgraduate training and significant experience in neuro-rehabilitation and dysphagia management

Demonstrable experience managing complex caseloads with high levels of clinical autonomy

Proven ability to supervise, train and support staff, students and multidisciplinary colleagues

Strong understanding of audit, research methodologies and evidence-based practice
-
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence others
