Full job description

Experienced Youth Football Team Manager – Two Positions Available

Sporting Kids FC is recruiting two experienced Youth Football Team Managers for the 2026/27 season in Hemel Hempstead.

We are looking for confident, reliable coaches who can take ownership of a grassroots youth team, deliver structured weekly training sessions and lead the team on weekend matchdays.

This role would suit an experienced grassroots manager, qualified football coach or assistant coach who is ready to move into a lead position.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality weekly football training sessions
Manage and organise the team on matchdays
Select squads, formations and playing positions
Communicate professionally with players, parents and club staff
Monitor individual player development and provide feedback
Create a positive, disciplined and inclusive team environment
Complete basic matchday and team administration
Follow club safeguarding and behaviour policies
Work alongside the club’s Head Coach and Development Officer

Essential requirements

At least one season of experience coaching or managing a youth football team
FA Introduction to Coaching Football, FA Level 1 or equivalent qualification
Strong understanding of grassroots youth football
Confident planning and leading sessions independently
Reliable and available for weekly evening training and weekend fixtures
Confident communicating with parents
Good organisation and leadership skills
Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding requirements

Desirable

UEFA C qualification or above
Current enhanced DBS
Safeguarding Children qualification
First Aid in Football qualification
Driving licence and access to transport
Experience working with players aged 8–15

What we offer

£20–£30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
Paid training sessions and matchday work
Support from experienced and UEFA-qualified coaches
Club equipment, facilities and session-planning support
Opportunities for additional paid work in schools, development sessions and holiday camps
Support with further coaching qualifications
Opportunity to grow within an expanding community football club

Hours and location

Part-time, self-employed
Approximately 3–6 hours per week
Weekly evening training and weekend fixtures
Based in Hemel Hempstead
Immediate interviews available during our two-week summer break
Expected start: August 2026

Applicants should include details of their coaching qualifications, previous teams managed and availability for evening training and weekend matches.

Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
