About The Role

Are you ready to make a real impact in the NHS while advancing your procurement career?

At NHS Professionals, we’re looking for a motivated Strategic Sourcing Manager to play a key role in shaping how we buy and manage contracts across our £40m+ spend portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, this role gives you the chance to influence business-critical decisions and lead on complex, high-value projects that truly make a difference.

Please note, this role is a Maternity Cover FTC until 30/07/2027

What you’ll be doing:

Leading sourcing and contract management across direct and indirect categories.
Developing and delivering category strategies that support NHSP’s mission and business goals.
Driving supplier negotiations, contract drafting, and governance.
Partnering with senior stakeholders to embed best practice procurement.
Leading and developing a small team, building a high-performance culture.

What we’re looking for:

Proven procurement or category management experience in a complex environment.
Strong commercial acumen with contract negotiation and drafting skills.
A strategic thinker who can also deliver at pace.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Experience leading or coaching team members.

About The Candidate

To be successful in this post you will need to:

Have a collaborative and engaging approach
Have several years' experience in a similar role working with high value contracts
Ideally hold a CIPS or other relevant qualification (desirable)
Be able to manage priorities
Work under pressure sometimes with challenging and variable timescales and deadlines
Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Be an experienced negotiator with a modern and creative approach to maximising value for NHSP and its suppliers and clients
Experience in managing a team to reach their full potential
