The Warehouse Operations Coordinator is responsible for the efficient management of goods inwards, inventory control, and despatch activities within the manufacturing facility. The role ensures that all inbound and outbound goods are accurately processed, preserved, and managed in line with company procedures, customer requirements, and manufacturing schedules.
The role is critical in supporting operational performance and contributing to the company’s manufacturing strategy of delivering products ‘On Time in Full’ OTIF
Key Responsibilities
Goods Inwards
- Receive, inspect, and verify all inbound goods against delivery documentation and purchase orders.
- Ensure all received goods are correctly labelled, preserved, and stored in designated locations.
- Accurately record all inbound materials and stock movements using electronic warehouse or ERP systems.
- Report and escalate any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support regular stock counts and audits.
- Ensure stock is controlled, rotated, and preserved in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment requirements to relevant departments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Despatch & Outbound Logistics
- Prepare, pick, pack, and despatch goods accurately to meet customer and production requirements.
- Ensure all shipments are correctly documented and compliant with transport and customer specifications.
- Coordinate collections and deliveries with logistics and courier partners.
- Ensure despatch schedules support manufacturing and customer delivery deadlines.
Logistics Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and logistics providers to ensure efficient handling and timely movement of goods.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipments and resolve logistical issues where required.
- Maintain effective communication with production, purchasing, and customer service teams.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures within the warehouse and logistics environment.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or stores environment.
- Experience with goods inwards, stock control, and despatch processes.
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence / Reach Truck Licence
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent IT skills, including warehouse management or ERP systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of health and safety practices within warehouse operations.
Desirable
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
- Experience working with logistics providers and freight documentation
