Full job description

Legacie Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background within cladding remediation works.

The Cladding Remediation Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, management, and delivery of cladding remediation projects from inception through to completion. The role involves overseeing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring compliance with current building safety legislation, programme, budget, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.

Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, residents, and regulatory bodies, the Project Manager will ensure remediation works are delivered efficiently, safely, and in accordance with all statutory requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery

Manage multiple cladding remediation projects through all project stages, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and handover.
Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, risk registers, and delivery plans.
Monitor project performance against agreed milestones and implement corrective actions where required.
Coordinate consultants, contractors, fire engineers, façade specialists, and other project stakeholders.
Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Building Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Fire Safety legislation, and all relevant industry standards.
Work closely with Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, and Building Control to meet statutory obligations.
Review fire risk assessments, EWS1 documentation, intrusive surveys, and technical reports to inform project delivery.
Maintain comprehensive project records and ensure all compliance documentation is completed.

Contract Management

Administer construction contracts (JCT, NEC or similar).
Manage contractor performance, valuations, variations, and change control procedures.
Review project costs and provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Support procurement activities including tender preparation, evaluation, and contractor appointment.

Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, leaseholders, residents, consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities.
Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reports.
Communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Manage resident engagement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.

Risk & Quality Management

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure robust quality assurance processes are implemented throughout construction.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor contractor compliance with specifications and health and safety requirements.
Manage project defects, snagging, and final completion activities.

Health & Safety

Promote a positive health and safety culture across all projects.
Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and company health and safety policies.
Monitor contractor performance regarding safe systems of work.
Report and investigate incidents where required.

Skills & Experience Essential

Proven experience managing cladding remediation or façade remediation projects.
Strong understanding of external wall systems, fire safety, and remediation techniques.
Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Fire Safety legislation, and CDM Regulations.
Experience managing construction projects from design through completion.
Strong contract administration experience (JCT and/or NEC).
Excellent budget management and financial reporting skills.
Experience managing multiple stakeholders across complex projects.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Desirable

Experience working with social housing providers, local authorities, developers, or managing agents.
Knowledge of government remediation funding programmes.
Experience working on occupied residential buildings.
Familiarity with EWS1 assessments and PAS 9980 guidance.
Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent).

Qualifications Essential

Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Valid SMSTS / CSCS Card.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

PRINCE2 Practitioner or APM Project Management Qualification.
MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM, or equivalent professional accreditation.
SMSTS certification.
