Join an Independent Practice That's Growing for the Right Reasons
At GoPet Services Vets, we're proud to be one of the few truly independent veterinary practices on the Sussex coast.
We began during lockdown as a mobile veterinary service, supporting pets and their owners through a difficult time. Thanks to the incredible support of our local community, we grew into a modern, purpose-built practice in Bexhill-on-Sea.
Over the past year, we have continued to invest heavily in our facilities and have recently completed a significant expansion of the practice, creating additional consulting, office and patient care space. As a result, we're now looking to welcome another Veterinary Surgeon to our growing team.
We're also continuing to invest in the future of the practice, with exciting additions planned over the coming months, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology that will further enhance the level of care we can offer our patients.
About Us
We're a genuinely independent practice, owned and run by vets who still believe veterinary medicine should be about patients, people and professional judgement.
There are no corporate targets, no sales pressures and no KPI-driven consultations.
Instead, we focus on:
- Excellent clinical care
- Outstanding client service
- Supporting each other as a team
- Giving vets the time and autonomy to practise properly
We have a friendly, supportive team of vets, nurses and animal care assistants, and we're fortunate to enjoy an excellent reputation within our local community.
Our Facilities
We believe good medicine starts with having the right tools available.
Our practice is equipped with:
- Full IDEXX in-house laboratory
- Digital radiography
- Ultrasound
- Modern dental suite with dental radiography
- Multiparameter monitoring
- Class IV laser therapy
- Purpose-built surgical and patient care facilities
- Recently expanded consulting and clinical space
- Planned investment in advanced cross-sectional imaging technology
We continually invest in our facilities and equipment to support clinical excellence and make day-to-day practice more enjoyable.
The Role
We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 3 years' UK small animal experience.
You should be confident with routine consultations, surgery and medical work-ups, and be comfortable with occasional sole charge when required.
While sole charge is not a regular feature of the role, we are looking for someone who can work independently when needed and enjoys taking ownership of their cases.
This role would suit someone who:
- Enjoys building long-term relationships with clients
- Values continuity of care
- Wants clinical freedom and autonomy
- Enjoys working within a close-knit team
- Takes pride in providing high-quality, patient-focused care
Most importantly, we're looking for someone kind, approachable and aligned with our values.
Working Pattern
- 4-day week
- Working hours: 8:30am – 6:30pm
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9am – 12pm)
- No on-call
- Out-of-hours provided by a trusted local emergency provider
- Closed on Bank Holidays
We strongly believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work.
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 – £65,000
- Company pension
- Generous CPD allowance
- Certificates encouraged and supported
- RCVS and VDS fees paid
- Staff discount
- Flexible working considered
