Factory Assistant

Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Factory Assistant to join our busy production team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of print, mailing and fulfilment equipment, assisting machine operators to ensure production targets, quality standards and customer deadlines are achieved.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career within the print, mailing and manufacturing industry. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Machinery Support
- Assist machine operators with the preparation and operation of print finishing, enclosing and mailing equipment.
- Feed printed materials, inserts and components into automated enclosing and production lines.
- Monitor material flow and promptly replenish stock to minimise machine downtime.
- Assist with machine set-up, changeovers and cleaning activities as directed.
- Conduct visual quality checks on printed products and finished mail packs.
- Support production teams in meeting daily production schedules and customer delivery deadlines.
Warehouse & Materials Handling
- Ensure materials, stock and finished goods are stored safely and correctly in designated locations.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, unloading goods and checking items against delivery documentation.
- Move materials between departments as required.
- Prepare completed jobs for dispatch and palletisation.
Quality, Health & Safety
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and adopt a "clean as you go" approach.
- Work safely at all times and comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Report any accidents, near misses, equipment faults or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
Team Working
- Demonstrate a positive "Can Do" attitude and work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.
- Be flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasks to support business requirements.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and management promptly and professionally.

Desirable
- Previous factory, warehouse, manufacturing or print industry experience.
- Experience operating production or packaging machinery.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
