The Service & Team:
The Digital Document & Storage Team forms part of the Strategy & Partnership Service and provides a central document management and digital mail service for the Council. The team is responsible for the secure processing, digitisation, storage and management of Council records, helping services access information efficiently while ensuring compliance with information governance and data protection requirements. Working closely with teams across the organisation, the service plays a key role in supporting digital transformation, improving ways of working and delivering high-quality support to both internal and external customers.
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our Digital Document & Storage Team, supporting the Council's digital transformation and information management services.
As a Digital Document & Storage Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate digitisation, indexing and management of electronic records within the Council's Electronic Document Records Management Systems (EDRMS). You will support the operation of the Council's Digital Mail Centre, processing incoming mail and ensuring documents are securely stored, accessible and managed in line with legislative and information governance requirements.
The role also supports the Council's digital archiving service, transforming historical paper records into accessible electronic documents through the accurate scanning, indexing and management of archived information in line with records management and information governance requirements.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering a high-quality customer-focused service. Experience of document management, records administration or working within an electronic document management environment would be advantageous.

Working Pattern:
This role is contracted at 37 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday. Flexible working hours may be available subject to service needs. Due to the nature of the role, which includes the handling, processing and digitisation of physical documents and incoming mail, the role is office based.
What you’ll need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately when processing and managing large volumes of information. You will be able to prioritise your workload effectively, manage competing demands and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
You will have experience of working with electronic records, document management systems or administrative processes, together with strong IT skills and confidence in using digital systems to manage information and maintain accurate records. Experience of document scanning, digital archiving, records management or mail processing would be advantageous.
You will be a proactive and reliable team member who can work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and respond positively to changing priorities. A commitment to information security, confidentiality, data protection and continuous improvement is essential.
