The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join our growing team as an Accounts Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone looking to kick-start or further develop their career within the accountancy profession.
Working in a supportive office environment, you will gain valuable hands-on experience processing financial transactions for a wide variety of clients while developing practical accounting skills.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties in this varied role will include:
· Bank reconciliations
· Processing purchase Ledger invoices
· Supplier payments
· Reconciling supplier statements
· Maintaining supplier records
· Sales invoicing
· Credit control
· Maintaining customer records
· Processing company credit card statements
· Month-end journals
· Dealing with intercompany management charges
· Developing an understanding of the accounting software in use
· General office duties: filing, archiving and answering the phone etc
Personal Attributes and Skills
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and eager to learn, with the following:
· A minimum of 2 A Levels (grades A–C) and at least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades 9–5 (A–C)
· Currently studying towards, or interested in studying towards, a formal finance qualification such as AAT Level 2 or 3
· Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage would be beneficial, but is not essential
