Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician (Level 3) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults in vehicles.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Carry out welding and heavy lifting as required during repair procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts utilised for each vehicle.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, tyre rotations, and inspections.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally.
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a motor vehicle technician with a recognised qualification at Level 3 or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Experience with assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and equipment repair tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical fitness suitable for working on vehicles for extended periods.
