The Project Manager is responsible for the effective delivery of assigned capital projects across Jersey Water’s estates and infrastructure portfolio. Working from defined scope, budgets and programmes, the role plans, coordinates and controls project activity from initiation through to delivery, handover and close-out, ensuring safe, timely and cost-effective outcomes.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the postholder supports the delivery of the Jersey Water capital plan by managing day-to-day project activities, coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers, and applying agreed project controls, governance requirements and ways of working.

Manage assigned capital projects from initiation to handover, ensuring clear plans, milestones, budgets, risks, actions and close-out requirements.
- Coordinate safe delivery in live operational environments, working with internal teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers to minimise disruption and maintain service continuity.
- Maintain project controls, including programme tracking, cost monitoring, risk and issue logs, change records, action plans and forecast updates.
- Prepare clear and timely project reports, briefings and updates for the Senior Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Support procurement, tendering, contract administration, supplier coordination, change control and performance monitoring within agreed delegations.
- Identify risks, issues, dependencies and decisions early, agreeing mitigations and escalating matters that may affect safety, cost, programme, quality or delivery.
- Engage operational teams, safety, commercial, finance, regulators, contractors and other stakeholders to support timely decisions and effective delivery.
- Complete project handover, commissioning support, documentation, lessons learned and close-out activities to ensure projects are properly transferred into operation.

Experience delivering capital, infrastructure, estates or operational projects within agreed scope, cost, programme, risk and quality requirements.
- Ability to coordinate project delivery in live operational environments, helping minimise disruption to customers, assets, operations and service continuity.
- Good project management skills, including planning, progress tracking, risk and issue management, reporting, stakeholder coordination and handover.
- Practical understanding of budgets, procurement inputs, contract administration, change control and supplier performance management.
- Sound technical, commercial and asset management awareness, with focus on deliverability, whole-life value, maintainability and long-term asset performance.
- Understanding of project governance, reporting, assurance and stage gate controls, with the discipline to follow Jersey Water policies, processes and delegated authorities.
- A relevant project management qualification or working towards certification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP, or equivalent project delivery experience.
- Experience with NEC contracts, CEMAR, Primavera P6 or similar contract and planning tools is desirable.
After completion of the probation period:
- Pension – Membership of the defined contribution scheme. Jersey Water pays 5% up to 5 years’ service and then 10%, employees pay 5%. A matching scheme is available whereby Jersey Water matches additional voluntary contributions up to a maximum of 5%.

Jersey Water, one of the Island’s oldest registered company, now employs around 100 people and operates six reservoirs, a desalination plant and two treatment plants to supply water to its customers.
