We are seeking a Landscaper to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the Landscaping function within our organisation. Role Overview:
Perform work required for the maintenance and development of the lawns, landscape beds, trees, irrigation systems, and general grounds around the property.
Main Key Responsibilities:
- Trim shrubs and cultivate garden.
- Trim and pick flowers and clean flowers beds.
- Gather and remove litter, garden waste, debris from the grounds and property.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning shears, and other landscaping maintenance tools as required.
- Soil cultivation, digging, forking, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planters.
- Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
- Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
- Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
- Maintain irrigation systems and use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste.
- Maintain the hand tools and power operated equipment e.g weed wackers, mowers etc.
- Plant plants and maintain exterior and interior landscaping in accordance with the landscape plan.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Regularly inspect assigned work areas to insure proper standards are maintained.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Secondary school education
- Two or more years’ experience in propagation techniques, proper handling and use of all landscaping machinery, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as an associate degree
- Well-developed skills in all aspects of horticulture
- Knowledge of a range of grounds hand-tools
- Good working knowledge of horticultural management and maintenance practices
- Knowledge of horticultural methods of planting, cultivating, pruning, caring for trees and lawns
- Knowledge of safe working practices including safe lifting techniques, and techniques for safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials
- Demonstrate good communication skills and practices to be able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team to serve internal and external customers.

- Able to stand for extended periods of time during shifts
- Able to walk interrupted for long distances on a daily basis

- Able to push, pull, guide materials over 35kg
- Able to stretch, bend, climb, stoop, squat, crouch for extended periods of time during shifts
