Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Management Accountant to support our financial team in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with management reporting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in financial management processes, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and contributing to strategic decision-making. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within financial services, with exposure to various accounting software and financial management tools.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing management accounts and financial reports in accordance with organisational policies.
Support accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Utilise accounting software, Sage 50, and other relevant platforms to record and manage financial data.
Contribute to the reconciliation of accounts and review of ledger entries for accuracy.
Aid in analysing financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with senior team members to prepare budgets and forecasts.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Assist in mentoring junior team members and providing guidance on accounting procedures where necessary.

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software including, Sage 50, Moneysoft payroll and other relevant platforms.
Strong understanding of financial services industry practices and regulations.
Experience with financial management, budgeting, and reporting processes.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Good communication skills for mentoring team members and liaising across departments.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
Ability to adapt quickly to new systems or procedures related to financial accounting. This position is ideal for candidates who are organised, proactive, and eager to further their expertise within a dynamic financial environment. The role provides valuable experience working with leading accounting software solutions while supporting key aspects of financial management within the organisation.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
