Role Brief
Due to an exciting period of growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Control Inspector to lead our team in meeting business demands. This is a key role within our business, and you will need a keen eye for detail to maintain high-quality standards, as well as excellent managerial and interpersonal skills.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you must have experience in a fast-paced industry and be able to adapt to our working environment, meeting deadlines as needed. Must be willing to work 07:45 – 16:30 Mon-Thurs & 07:45 – 12:45 Fridays. Occasionally, you may be required to work a 05:45 – 14:00 or 13:45 – 22:00 shift pattern, contingent upon operational demand.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all quality standards are met within each process of the business.
- Conduct various dip checks within all production departments to ensure that quality is being adhered to and report any findings to the contrary to senior management.
- Ensure that powder coating test samples are painted and tested for each structure. Conduct bend tests, scratch tests, and chemical tests on sample swatches for each structure, ensuring that the findings are logged and reported.
- Introduce new testing regimes such as pressure cooker tests on paint samples for each structure, and record and report findings.
- Look for new ways to prevent remedials from happening in each department and promote a ‘right first time culture’ within the business.
- Be a part of the ‘post remedial’ team investigating what could have been done to prevent remedial actions from occurring, and implement change to prevent them from happening again.
- Ensure that kit lists have post-completion checks to ensure that all parts have been kitted and packed as per the kitting sheets, and ensure that photos are taken of all bundles and saved into the corresponding folders.
- Be customer-focused and ensure a high quality of service is provided to the customer.
- To ensure quality is maintained at all times.
Other Duties and Responsibilities to Oversee:
- Ensure that all activity within the kitting area is planned and scheduled to meet the stated delivery / completion dates.
- Ensure all parts are thoroughly inspected for accuracy, size, colour and quality before they are kitted up into the associated bundle.
- To maintain and update the kitting list to communicate progress and targets to relevant departments.
- To monitor and document all quality issues.
- To monitor any staffing issues, ensuring these are accurately recorded, authorising annual leave to ensure sufficient staffing levels are maintained to ensure continuity within the kitting area and shifts.
- To monitor Health and Safety within the kitting area and adhere to all H&S policies and procedures, and to escalate any issues that may arise.
- To ensure a clean and tidy working environment and that staff are using all required PPE;
- To collaborate with the Production Supervisors to ensure the allocation of work within the kitting area is accurate and completed to agreed timescales.
- Manage and provide guidance, motivation and support to colleagues and be responsible for Training.
- Reviewing and signing off on completion of all products to ensure quality is being maintained at the highest levels across the whole process, and addressing any issues that arise, whilst ensuring that quality is always maintained.

- Hold suitable qualifications or be qualified by experience
- Have a working knowledge of Quality requirements.

- Team Management experience is essential.
- Flexible to meet the needs of the business. Must be willing to work shifts.
- You must have excellent People skills and communication skills with the ability to manage a complex manufacturing environment.
