Pet Care Advisor - 1 Day Per Week (Weekend)

Wildwood Pets, a growing hub in the pet community is seeking a dedicated individual to join our family-run business based in Stamford, South Lincolnshire.

Our store is here to offer a wide range of natural and nutritious pet food options alongside carefully selected toys, treats and accessories. We are committed to promoting long-term health and happiness for all pets by providing exceptional in-store customer service and knowledgeable advice. As a family-run company we treat our pets as one of the family, so we are very particular with what we give them. The same approach has been taken with the store, only stocking what we would give to our own family.
Pet Care Advisor: Responsibilities
· Assist customers in selecting the appropriate product for their pet’s needs. This means tailoring recommendations to any dietary needs, allergies or health concerns.
· Provide personalised advice to customers regarding general pet care.
· Stay up to date with the latest products we stock and be able to find answers about any item if requested by a customer.
· Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers in the proper function of any pet care accessory.
· Maintain a clean and well-organised store environment, ensure that all areas of the store are well stocked and displays are attractive.
· Process transactions through the till system quickly and accurately.
· Handle customer questions, concerns and complaints with a high level of professionalism and empathy.
· Collaborate with other team members to carry out store objectives and build knowledge.
· Participate in ongoing training and development to expand personal knowledge.
· Be willing to go beyond what is expected for our customers and their pets.
Questions For You:
· Do you have a genuine passion for pets? Even the slobbering, smelly ones that have clearly rolled in something on the way to the store…
· Do you have a strong interest in natural pet care? Are you willing to learn about pet nutrition?
· Do you have excellent communication skills in order to build relationships with customers?
· Do you work well in a team-orientated environment?
· Are you able to carry and lift heavy items such as pet food sacks, with or without aids?
· Are you able to be on your feet and be physically active all day?
· Do you have flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and school breaks?
· Do you have reliable forms of transportation in order to work in store any day of the week?
We are looking for the right person, not the fullest CV, therefore no formal qualifications are required to apply – although if you have good grades feel free to brag about them.
This role will primarily be a Sunday role, however we would prefer applicants that can be available for Saturdays if required and even occasional weekdays (on bank holidays or school/college holidays if in education).
