Manchester Orthotics is a private orthotic clinical service providing immediate access to leading orthotic solutions, with clinics based in Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds. Our multidisciplinary team currently includes orthotists, prosthetists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, and occupational therapists. We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Senior Orthotist to join our team and support our growing client bases in Liverpool and Manchester. The role will predominantly be based at our clinic locations however, there will also be occasions where appointments are carried out within the local community.
The role will involve:
- Undertaking orthotic assessments for clients.
- Recommending and prescribing appropriate orthotic solutions.
- Taking casts and measurements for bespoke orthoses.
- Fitting and reviewing orthotic devices.
- Completing onward referrals to other healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Supporting service development through active promotion of the Orthotics UK brand.
In return, you will be supported in developing personal research interests and clinical specialisms, provided these contribute positively to the reputation and growth of the organisation.

Primarily, the successful candidate must be able to open their diary for appointments at least one day per week at our Liverpool clinic in Aintree. Ideally, the candidate would also have the flexibility to offer clinical days at our Manchester location in Salford on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. These days could be adjusted for the ideal candidate.
This position would suit a candidate with significant clinical experience who is comfortable allowing their caseload to build gradually over time. It may particularly appeal to someone looking to transition from full-time to part-time work, or to undertake additional work alongside existing employment.
Due to the potential requirement for home visits, applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
To be successful in this role, you would need to:
- Be experienced in providing a wide range of custom-made and off-the-shelf orthotic devices, including AFOs, GRAFOs, DAFOs, and KAFOs.
- Be able to undertake detailed gait analysis and prescribe, fit, and review custom-made orthotic insoles.
- Have orthotic expert witness/medico-legal experience, have completed the Bond Solon training course, and/or have an interest in developing this area of practice in the future.
- Ideally have previous experience working within a private orthotic setting, although this is not essential.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant must meet the following requirements:
- BSc (Hons) degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics.
- HCPC registered.
- Eligible to become, or currently a full member of BAPO.
- Eligible for, or currently holding, BAPO Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) top-up cover.
- A minimum of five years’ orthotic clinical experience.
- Would reside in the Liverpool / Manchester region.
- Would be able to start within four weeks of accepting the role.
