As a Sales Estimator you will provide internal technical sales support, sales communication and quoting services to customers, and support designated Regional Sales Manager, via liaison with the Sales Team, Drawing and Production Teams. You will also activley promote and drive sales within the internal Sales Team.
This role supports the sales process by providing accurate estimations, technical assistance, and administrative support. Their role is essential in helping the sales team with a timely response to customer enquiries. Actively calling and contacting customers to drive sales
Primary Objectives
- Provide estimates that meet the client’s needs and expectations, enhancing overall customer satisfaction and potentially leading to repeat business, always maintaining health and safety requirements
- To respond to customer enquiries by telephone, email and post
- To follow up quotes to ensure order success
- To process orders to production stage
- To provide sales support to existing customers (specification advice, preparing and submission of literature)
- To provide after sales support (drawings and specifications)
- To provide support to the external sales team
- To source new customers making outbound prospective phone calls to customers
- To enter data into the internal database/system
- To research new markets for Robust UK products
- To manage a lead bank and quantity of customers within a specific area
- To ensure accurate and effective communication by actively contacting customers and promoting sales
Primary Measures of Effectiveness
- Produce estimates that closely match actual costs or sales figures
- Generate estimates in a timely manner
- Provide accurate, helpful, and timely information to the sales team
- Customer satisfaction
- The efficiency in estimating within budget constraints
- The estimator has accountability over the quotes that are submitted and must ensure weekly follow up call take place weekly
Secondary Objectives
- Identifying inefficiencies in the sales or estimation process and recommending improvements or tools that could streamline workflows
- Supporting the development and maintenance of software tools, templates, or databases used for the estimation process, ensuring that these resources remain up-to-date and effective
- Identifying potential risks in projects and helping mitigate those risks through accurate estimation of costs and resource needs
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for Role
- Ability to communicate effectively with the sales team, customers, and management.
- Proficient in writing clear proposals and report
- Ability to interact professionally with clients, answer queries, and provide support throughout the estimation process.
- Ability to analyse data, understand cost breakdowns, and create accurate pricing models.
- Ability to spot discrepancies and ensure pricing and estimates are precise.
- Ability to manage multiple requests, handle deadlines, and maintain accurate records
- Previous experience in a similar role or in customer service, sales, or estimating positions is required
- Ability to work under pressure – this role will require you to handle high volumes of requests and managing tight deadlines.
- Ability to make outbound phone calls and manage a section of a customer base within a region. Ensuring effective communication and promoting sales.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
