Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painting and Decorating professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet client specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, contributing to transforming spaces with colour and design. A valid driving licence and good communication skills are essential for this position.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Follow colour schemes and design specifications provided by clients or project managers
Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting processes
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure proper storage after use
Collaborate with clients and team members to discuss project requirements and progress
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality

Experience

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is preferred
Knowledge of different painting techniques and materials
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or instructions is advantageous
Good communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members
Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between sites or supplies
Prior experience working in residential or commercial environments is beneficial
