Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef / Apprentice to join our dynamic culinary team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your cooking skills, gain valuable kitchen experience, and learn the art of meal preparation in a fast-paced, professional environment. As a Commis Chef / Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced chefs to deliver high-quality dishes while adhering to food safety standards. This paid position is ideal for individuals eager to kick-start their culinary career and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
Prepare ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and portioning, to support efficient kitchen operations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene protocols.
Support the team during meal service by plating dishes and ensuring timely delivery to guests.
Follow recipes accurately and learn various cooking techniques to expand culinary skills.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items.
Participate in kitchen cleaning routines, including washing utensils, equipment, and maintaining overall sanitation.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques preferred.
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices is a plus.
Experience working in a restaurant or catering service can be beneficial but is not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure.
A genuine interest in culinary arts and a positive attitude toward learning new skills.
