Duties
- Perform MIG welding and other welding techniques on various parts
- Fabricate parts by cutting, shaping, and assembling using hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly and welding
- Use hand tools and power tools to manipulate metal sheets, rods, and other components
- Conduct quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety standards at all times
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or structures
- Troubleshoot welding issues and perform basic repairs as needed
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding with a solid understanding of welding standards
- Experience with fabrication processes involving sheet metal and structural steel
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint reading
- Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining safety protocols
- Good organisational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently
