Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Dresser to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, shaping, and finishing metal components to meet precise specifications. Duties
- Fabricate and shape metal parts using welding, grinding, and hand tools to meet detailed technical drawings and specifications.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control machinery during fabrication processes.
- Utilise SolidWorks or similar CAD software for interpreting technical drawings and assisting in assembly tasks.
- Use power tools and tooling equipment safely and efficiently to perform cutting, grinding, and finishing operations.
- Conduct inspections of finished components to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist in the assembly of metal structures or components as required within the warehouse environment.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks during production.
Experience
- Hands-on experience with grinding, welding, hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles and basic maths relevant to fabrication tasks.
- Previous warehouse experience involving assembly or metalwork is beneficial.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
