About us:

ichiban UK is a privately owned sushi manufacturer producing own label and branded sushi for the UK market.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience maintaining and improving the equipment that keeps our production areas running efficiently.

About the role

Looking to start a career in Engineering? This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced engineering team while working towards a recognised Engineering Technician apprenticeship qualification.

As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll work alongside skilled engineers to learn how to install, maintain, fault-find and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment. You'll gain practical experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering, developing the knowledge and skills needed for a successful engineering career.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment
Supporting engineers with fault finding, repairs and breakdown response
Learning how to safely use engineering tools, equipment and diagnostic techniques
Helping to install and commission new machinery and equipment
Completing engineering documentation and maintenance records accurately
Following health and safety procedures and food safety standards at all times
Working with the engineering team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Attending college/training as part of your apprenticeship programme and applying your learning in the workplace

About you

Keen to learn and build a career in Engineering
Practical, hands-on and interested in how machinery and equipment work
Good problem-solving skills with a logical approach
Well organised with good attention to detail
Able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
Committed to working safely and following procedures
Comfortable using basic IT systems and willing to learn new skills

Due to the location of our training provider and the requirements of the apprenticeship, applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
