Early Years Practitioner & Wraparound Care Lead – Hoddesdon

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner & Wraparound Care Lead to support the day-to-day running of our breakfast and after school provision. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to develop within a supportive and growing organisation.
Ideally Level 3 qualified in Early Years/Childcare, or willing to complete a fast-track qualification with our support.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead and support the day-to-day delivery of high-quality wraparound care provision
- Provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children
- Plan and deliver engaging activities suitable for a range of ages and interests
- Support children’s development through play-based learning opportunities
- Assist with the collection of children from school and safe handover to parents/carers
- Supervise and support playworkers, practitioners and volunteers
- Set up and clear away equipment and activity spaces daily
- Prepare and serve refreshments whilst maintaining hygiene and safety standards
- Promote positive behaviour and inclusive practice
- Build strong relationships with children, families, schools and colleagues
- Support safeguarding, welfare and health & safety procedures at all times
- Assist with registers, administration and general club organisation
- Support with Ofsted requirements and inspections where required
- Work within the EYFS framework, club policies and procedures
Typical Hours
Breakfast Club:
Monday – Friday | 7:20am – 9:00am
After School Club:
Monday – Friday | 2:45pm – 5:30pm
Holiday Club (Optional Additional Hours):
Monday – Friday | 7:30am – 5:30pm
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working with children aged 3–11 years
- Passion for childcare, play and child development
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to create a safe, engaging and inclusive environment
- Reliable, organised and enthusiastic approach
- Sound judgement and ability to use initiative
- Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the wellbeing of children
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare/Early Years qualification
- Experience within wraparound care, nursery or play-based settings
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Safeguarding/Child Protection training
- Confidence using IT for registers and communication
