Full job description

An opportunity has arisen for an Apprenticeship Dental Nurse /Part Time Qualified Dental Nurse at The Smile Centre Dental Practice in Shrewsbury.

It’s not just our state-of-the-art surgeries or our impressive range of expertly delivered treatments that gets us noticed, it’s also our strong commitment to teamwork.

We are proud of our cohesive mix of dentists, hygienists and dental nurses – a supportive and friendly team who work together.

Our chief priority is providing preventive care for the whole family, but we also offer a comprehensive range of treatments for teeth requiring a little extra attention or to create a beautifully enhanced smile.

We are looking for somebody that is enthusiastic, hardworking, a team player and with good communication skills to join our team.

Qualified nurses need to be registered with the GDC, have relevant immunisations and evidence of this. GDC & Indemnity will be paid by employer and a uniform is provided.

Trainee nurses will be registered on to a college course to achieve Level 3 Advance Dental Nurse Diploma which is accredited by City & Guilds. Applicants must have a Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths & English.

Knowledge of R4 Clinical + is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Working on Reception on a rota basis & at our sister practice in Telford when required.

The role as a Dental Nurse:

> Providing clinical chair-side support to dentists and hygienists

> Ensuring CQC requirements are met

> Providing excellent patient care

> Preparation & cleaning of all clinical areas

> Providing & maintaining infection control & sterilisation

> Setting up decontamination of instruments and working in our decontamination room.

> Operation of dental computer software R4 in recording patient's dental treatment.

> Recording Medical Histories

> Good communication skills and customer service awareness is needed to maintain a high level of service within the dental practice

> Maintaining stock levels in surgery
