Ye Olde Jolly Sailor is a historic pub located in Teignmouth, Devon. Renowned for its traditional charm and warm atmosphere, it offers a selection of local cuisine which come highly recommended and also boasts a variety of real ales and a good selection of drinks, all at reasonable prices.
Role Overview:
As a Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality dishes and supporting the smooth running of the kitchen. Working alongside a supportive team, you’ll prepare fresh food to spec, help maintain hygiene standards, and to keep service running efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone with kitchen experience looking to grow and progress within a friendly and expanding company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent high standard.
- Work efficiently during service to maintain smooth kitchen operation.
- Support senior chefs with food prep and day-to-day kitchen tasks.
- Maintain high food hygiene / cleanliness standards at all times.
- Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and organisation.
- Contribute ideas for specials and menu development.
- Be a team player and support colleagues to ensure a positive kitchen environment.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience working in a busy kitchen (as a Commis Chef, Line Cook, CDP or similar).
- A passion for fresh, quality food and good presentation.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow.
- Good understanding of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently during busy periods.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
