Deceuninck are a Window Systems Company based in Calne, Wiltshire; where we extrude and laminate 6-meter lengths of uPVC profiles for windows and doorframes.
We are looking to hire a Trainee Foiling Operator in our Lamination Production Team based in Calne, Wiltshire. The purpose of this role is to operate the lamination lines safely and efficiently, feeding and packing profiles to fulfil demand at the highest quality standards.
In addition to our standard new starter induction with Health & Safety and HR, you will receive a department induction, full introduction and training on your tasks and responsibilities.
Key duties include:
As a Trainee Foiling Operator at Deceuninck, you will undergo a structured training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a successful Foiling Operator. This program consists of three progressive stages:
Stage 1: Line Operator Feeder/Packer
- Prepare materials and set up the production line before each run.
- Accurately interpret technical drawings for foiled profiles and prepare priming pads.
- Assist the Lead Operator in setting up guides and foiling wheels.
- Monitor the primer station and adjust primer pads to achieve the desired coverage.
- Learn safe machine operation procedures during production and at the end of production runs.
Stage 2: Line Operator Level 1
- Develop a basic understanding of all foiling processes and line operations.
- Operate Standard Single Glue-Head foiling lines and troubleshoot foiling issues.
- Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor on production-related matters and concerns.
- Effectively communicate relevant issues to the team.
- Proficiently complete production paperwork, including SFC, data capturing, samples, process checks, scrap, and dispatch.
Stage 3: Line Operator Level 2
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of all foiling processes and line operations.
- Operate both Standard Single and Double Glue-Head foiling lines with expertise.
- Train new operators in setting primer pads and achieving the required coverage.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the glue system.
- Organise and motivate the team to meet production targets.
- Share your expertise and communicate foiling process knowledge with team members.

Working Hours:
42 hours per week. The standard working hours are 06:00 – 18:00, rolling 3 day shift pattern. Although the hours may vary during initial training.
Please note due to the process of lamination, the department has a minimum temperature of 21 degrees and therefore is always a warm environment to work in.
