We are recruiting for 2 full time Specialist 1 COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) staff, on a permanent basis

Experts at what we do, we work in a professional way towards our shared goals, knowing the work we do makes a genuine, lasting difference on the environment. As Specialist 1 COMAH, that involves:

Lead on delivery of operational COMAH work, including the regulation of complex COMAH sites, assessment of technical submissions and response to COMAH environmental incidents
Provide expert advice and guidance on COMAH to SEPA's Industry Regulation teams and managers and, when required, for COMAH policy development
Supervise and mentor colleagues dealing with COMAH work, providing guidance, support and training when required
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key COMAH stakeholders

Respect for your expertise

This is a highly important role within our Regulation, Business & Environment portfolio, which means you’ll need:

Relevant experience or qualification equivalent to SCQF Level 10 (e.g relevant Degree).
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of COMAH legislation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal, consultative and negotiating skills
Well-developed planning, analytical and organisational skills
Proven COMAH regulatory and/or industry experience
Full UK Drivers Licence
