Role Purpose
The Procurement Executive will provide operational and analytical support to the Procurement team, helping to ensure the successful sourcing, purchasing, and supply of products across Care Shop.
Working within the healthcare and social care sector, the role will support supplier management, procurement administration, product sourcing, cost management, and supply continuity activities. The Procurement Executive will gain broad exposure to the end-to-end procurement process whilst developing strong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
This is an entry-level development role designed for individuals seeking a long-term career in procurement and supply chain management. The successful candidate will be supported in undertaking professional development, including the opportunity to study towards Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Administration & Supplier Support
- Support the day-to-day procurement of products and services.
- Raise and manage purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain supplier records, product information, and procurement data.
- Support supplier communications regarding pricing, lead times, product changes, and supply issues.
- Ensure procurement documentation is accurate, compliant, and up to date.
Supplier Management & Sourcing
- Assist with supplier performance monitoring and reporting.
- Support supplier reviews by gathering and analysing performance data.
- Conduct market research to identify new products, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in supplier onboarding and product set-up activities.
- Support sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives.
Data Analysis & Commercial Support
- Analyse purchasing and supplier data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Produce procurement reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and commercial negotiations through data gathering and analysis.
- Assist with the management of supplier pricing records and commercial documentation.
- Support new product introduction and range review projects.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Inventory to support availability and replenishment activities.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales teams to resolve supplier and product-related issues.
- Support Finance with supplier payment queries and purchasing controls.
- Build effective relationships with suppliers and Bunzl procurement colleagues.
- Help ensure procurement activities support wider business objectives.
Learning & Development
- Develop a strong understanding of procurement best practice, category management, and supply chain operations.
- Participate in internal and external training programmes.
- Work towards professional procurement qualifications, including CIPS where appropriate.
- Take ownership of personal development and career progression within the procurement function.

Desirable
- Qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within healthcare, social care, retail, distribution, or customer service environments.
- Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain processes.
- Experience using ERP or business systems.
- Awareness of CIPS or an interest in pursuing professional procurement qualifications.
