About us
G2Brands is a UK-based consumer electronics wholesaler operating under the Entity brand. We design and source a growing range of products — audio, charging, power, peripherals, wearables, and computing — and supply major UK retailers including Argos, Currys, Very, QVC, Amazon and Ebuyer, alongside a network of distributors. We run a lean, fast-moving team with established manufacturing relationships across Shenzhen and a presence in Hong Kong.
The role
We're looking for a hands-on Merchandiser to own the product journey from factory floor to UK warehouse. You'll be the link between our China supply base and our UK sales and management team — sourcing the right products at the right price, keeping orders and shipments on track, and making sure everything that lands meets spec and quality. This is a broad, commercially focused role with real ownership and direct visibility to senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Sourcing — Identify and evaluate new products and suppliers in line with category strategy. Benchmark specifications, pricing and lead times to find the best commercial fit.
- Factory liaison — Manage day-to-day communication with factories and vendors in China (primarily Shenzhen). Negotiate FOB pricing, MOQs, tooling and terms; resolve queries and keep relationships strong.
- Order handling — Raise and manage purchase orders, proforma invoices and order confirmations. Track production timelines and flag risks to delivery early.
- Shipments & logistics — Coordinate sea and air freight with factories and forwarders. Monitor shipping schedules, documentation and customs requirements to keep stock flowing to the UK on time.
- Quality control — Manage QC at sample and pre-shipment stages. Review inspection reports, chase corrective actions, and hold suppliers to agreed standards.
- Testing & compliance — Coordinate product testing and ensure goods meet UK regulatory and retailer requirements (e.g. CE/UKCA, lithium battery marking, declarations of conformity). Maintain accurate compliance documentation.
- Reporting — Provide clear, regular updates to the sales and management team on sourcing progress, order status, shipment timings, costs and any issues — in a format ready to act on.
What we're looking for
- Experience in merchandising, buying, sourcing or supply chain — ideally within consumer electronics or a comparable fast-moving hardware category.
- Confident dealing directly with overseas factories; comfortable negotiating and managing suppliers across time zones.
- Strong grasp of the import process — FOB pricing, freight, lead times and shipping documentation.
- A practical understanding of QC processes and product compliance.
- Highly organised, with the ability to run multiple orders and deadlines at once without dropping detail.
- Strong Excel skills and clear, concise written communication.
- Commercially minded — you understand that every decision has a margin impact.
Desirable
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills.
- Existing factory or distributor relationships in China.
- Familiarity with UK retailer onboarding and listing requirements.
