About the Role
Technip Energies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Engineer / NDT / Inspector to join our team working on the innovative Net Zero Teesside Power project. This role involves overseeing welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and project specifications to deliver high-quality, sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Welding Engineering:
- Develop/witness, review/comment, and accept welding procedures, qualification, specifications in accordance with project and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
- Proven experience working/witnessing exotic material welding and post weld heat treatment (PWHT) cycles and requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to welding teams prior and during fabrication, erection, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure welding activities are performed in compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
- NDT & Inspection:
- Plan, execute, and supervise non-destructive testing activities/techniques including radiography, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing, and others.
- Completion of in process/construction weld inspection/acceptance and PWHT process inspection/acceptances.
- Review/accept NDT reports and ensure accurate documentation and traceability.
- Identify and address non-conformities or defects in welds and materials.
- Quality & Safety Assurance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and protocols during all welding and inspection activities.
- Participate in quality audits and inspections to verify workmanship and compliance.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of welding procedures, NDT reports, inspection findings, and quality documentation.
- Prepare technical reports and contribute to project documentation and quality assurance files.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate welding and inspection activities.
Provide technical support and training to site personnel as needed.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field – IWE/EWE
- Relevant certifications such as CSWIP, PCN, or ASNT Level 2/3 in NDT.
- Extensive experience in welding engineering, inspection, post weld heat treatment, and NDT within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
- Familiarity with codes and standards relevant to the project (ASME, API, ISO).
- Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, procedures, and quality control processes.
- Proven ability to work in a safety-critical environment on large-scale projects.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
