We are currently looking for an experienced Plasterer to join our growing team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of internal and external plastering on residential construction projects.
- Apply hardwall, bonding, browning, finishing plaster, and multi-finish to a high standard.
- Skim walls and ceilings to produce smooth, paint-ready finishes.
- Patch repair existing plasterwork and seamlessly blend new work with existing finishes.
- Install plasterboard to walls and ceilings using dot-and-dab and timber/metal stud systems.
- Tape and joint plasterboard where required.
- Carry out rendering works including sand and cement render, monocouche, and silicone render systems.
- Apply external render finishes in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Form clean internal and external angles, beads, reveals, and decorative features where required.
- Prepare backgrounds by cleaning, bonding, and priming surfaces before plastering.
- Repair damaged ceilings and walls following electrical, plumbing, or structural works.
- Work on loft conversions, extensions, renovations, HMOs, and high-end residential refurbishments.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and construction details.
- Coordinate closely with carpenters, electricians, plumbers, decorators, tilers, and site managers to maintain project programmes.
- Measure, order, and organise materials efficiently while minimising waste.
- Carry out snagging and final finishing works before project handover.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
- Maintain clean, organised work areas and protect clients' homes during all stages of work.
- Keep site managers informed of progress, material requirements, and any programme issues.
- Travel to projects throughout Bristol and surrounding areas as required.
Minimum Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive experience in all aspects of plastering.
- Strong experience with skimming, float and set, bonding, hardwall, and patch repairs.
- Experience installing plasterboard, stud wall systems, and ceiling systems.
- Experience carrying out internal and external rendering.
- Excellent knowledge of plastering preparation techniques and finishing methods.
- Ability to achieve consistently high-quality finishes with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working on loft conversions, extensions, refurbishments, and residential developments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Competent using plastering hand tools, power tools, mixers, stilts (where applicable), and access equipment.
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plastering (preferred).
- CSCS Card (preferred).
- Full UK Driving Licence required.
