As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources & Marketing Manager to establish our HR function while driving our marketing strategy and brand growth.
Job Purpose
The Human Resources & Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing all HR policies, procedures, and people management practices while leading the company's marketing, branding, customer engagement, and digital presence.
This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational, communication, leadership, and commercial skills.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources Management
- Develop, implement and maintain all HR policies and procedures.
- Advise the Director on employment law and HR best practices.
- Manage recruitment campaigns from advertising through to onboarding.
- Coordinate interviews, candidate selection and employment offers.
- Develop induction programmes for new employees.
- Maintain employee personnel records and HR documentation.
- Manage employee attendance, annual leave and absence records.
- Handle disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation.
- Promote employee wellbeing and engagement.
- Develop employee retention initiatives.
- Manage payroll information in conjunction with payroll providers.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Coordinate staff training and professional development.
- Monitor HR KPIs and prepare management reports.
Employee Relations
- Foster positive working relationships throughout the business.
- Resolve workplace disputes fairly and professionally.
- Promote effective communication between management and employees.
- Conduct return-to-work and welfare meetings.
- Support conflict resolution and mediation where required.
- Maintain employee satisfaction and engagement programmes.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Develop and implement Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies.
- Ensure fair recruitment and promotion practices.
- Promote an inclusive working environment.
- Monitor compliance with equality legislation.
- Deliver diversity awareness initiatives.
Learning & Development
- Identify organisational training needs.
- Design staff development programmes.
- Maintain employee training records.
- Coordinate external training providers.
- Support apprenticeships and professional qualifications.
- Monitor employee performance and development plans.
Recruitment Management
- Develop recruitment strategies.
- Prepare job descriptions and person specifications.
- Advertise vacancies across multiple platforms.
- Screen applications and shortlist candidates.
- Conduct interviews and coordinate recruitment activities.
- Manage onboarding and probation processes.
- Build relationships with recruitment agencies where necessary.
Marketing ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy
- Develop and implement annual marketing plans.
- Increase brand awareness across the UK.
- Identify new business opportunities and target markets.
- Monitor competitors and market trends.
- Measure return on investment for marketing activities.
Digital Marketing
- Manage the company website.
- Improve search engine optimisation (SEO).
- Manage Google Business Profile.
- Create and manage Google Ads campaigns.
- Oversee social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Plan and schedule engaging content.
- Monitor website analytics and marketing performance.
Brand Management
- Maintain a consistent company brand.
- Produce marketing materials including brochures, banners and promotional literature.
- Coordinate branding for vehicles, uniforms and signage.
- Protect and strengthen the House of Tyres brand.
Customer Marketing
- Develop customer loyalty programmes.
- Coordinate seasonal promotions and sales campaigns.
- Manage email marketing campaigns.
- Support customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Collect and analyse customer feedback.
Content Creation
- Write website content, blogs and articles.
- Create promotional videos and graphics.
- Produce newsletters and press releases.
- Develop promotional campaigns for new products and services.
Business Development Support
- Support the Director with business growth initiatives.
- Develop partnerships with suppliers and local businesses.
- Assist in preparing tender documents and presentations.
- Identify opportunities for expanding the customer base.
Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation.
- Support GDPR compliance relating to employee and marketing data.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Promote health and safety within the workplace.
- Ensure marketing activities comply with advertising standards and data protection requirements.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Business Management, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in HR management.
- Previous experience in marketing.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Experience managing digital marketing platforms.
Desirable
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above).
- CIM qualification or equivalent marketing qualification.
- Experience within the automotive or retail sector.
- Knowledge of SEO, Google Ads and social media advertising.
- Experience using HRIS and CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
