About the Role
Due to continued growth, Ocado Logistics is thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new site in Stoke! As Delivery Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in site performance and customer experience. Leading a large team, you’ll be accountable for operational KPIs, resource planning, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective deliveries.

You’ll lead by example, inspire your teams, and bring a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving. Success in this role means driving both operational excellence and employee engagement – living and breathing our five pillars: Safety, People, Customer, Delivery, and Cost.

Key Responsibilities

Full accountability for Stoke spoke operations, including staff, facilities, vehicles, and customer experience.
Lead, develop, and motivate a team of 300 colleagues, including 5 Team Managers, 2 Site Support and CSTMS.
Manage performance through operational KPIs, on-time delivery, absence, health & safety, and colleague development/appraisals.
Oversee a large-scale operation of 100 vans delivering c.25,000 weekly orders.
Plan resources and budgets effectively, ensuring operational and financial targets are met.
Maintain strong communication across all levels, driving collaboration and customer service excellence.
Take ownership of admin and data analysis – advanced spreadsheet skills are essential.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced operational leader who thrives in a logistics or distribution environment.

You’ll have:

Proven experience in a senior operations or site management role (transport/fleet management is essential).
A track record of managing large teams in a fast-paced, service-driven business.
Strong leadership skills – charismatic, approachable, and able to inspire and motivate.
A self-sufficient, proactive mindset, with the confidence to use initiative and drive improvements.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience in high-volume logistics businesses is highly desirable.
