Balufab Ltd is a growing steel fabrication and architectural metalwork manufacturer based near Market Drayton. We design, manufacture, powder coat and install a wide range of products including staircases, structural steelwork, balconies, balustrading, gates, railings and bespoke fabrications throughout the UK.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Production Welder to join our workshop team.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role focused on producing high-quality welded assemblies efficiently and consistently. The successful candidate will be confident working from engineering drawings, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and contributing to a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding of mild steel fabrications.
- Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Welding staircases, balustrades, structural steelwork, gates, railings and bespoke metalwork.
- Preparing and assembling components prior to welding.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Working closely with fabrication, laser cutting, folding and powder coating departments.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Proven production welding experience.
- Strong MIG welding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working with mild steel fabrication.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience with stainless steel and aluminium.
- Fabrication experience.
- Forklift licence.
- Welding qualifications.
- TIG welding experience.
