Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Group HR Manager to join our team at Spray Tanker Services Ltd and its associated companies. This is varied role combining hands-on HR management with the opportunity to contribute to wider people initiatives as the business continues to grow. You will be responsible for delivering effective day-to-day HR support across the group, while working with senior management to improve processes, support organisational development, and maintain a positive and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities
HR Management
· Foster and promote a positive company culture, setting the standard for behaviour, teamwork and professionalism across the group
· Lead and manage the day-to-day HR function across the group
· Act as the main point of contact for HR queries, providing practical advice to managers
· Maintain and update HR policies, contracts and procedures in line with UK employment law
· Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to exit
Recruitment, Development and Engagement
· Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth candidate and new starter experience
· Support performance management processes, including appraisals and development planning
· Coordinate training and development activities
· Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
Employee Relations
· Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance and absence cases
· Provide guidance to managers to ensure fair and consistent handling of issues
HR Systems and Reporting
· Maintain accurate HR records and systems, ensuring GDPR compliance
· Produce regular HR reports
· Identify areas for improvement and support the development of HR processes
Business Support and Improvements
· Work with senior management to support workforce planning and organisational changes
· Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the business grows
· Provide oversight of Health & Safety culture and compliance - assist in ensuring facilities are safe, compliant and well-maintained
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience operating in a generalist HR Manager role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience handling employee relations cases independently
- Comfortable balancing operational HR with process improvement
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in HR systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to align people strategy with business objectives
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) required
- Full UK drivers’ licence
