NFU Mutual Stafford Agency – Claims Handler

NFU Mutual's Stafford agency is one of the leading NFU Mutual Insurance branches in the country and we are currently recruiting for a Claims Handler.

We are looking for a hard working and enthusiastic individual looking to join a successful and expanding local business. This role is an exciting opportunity for anybody who is looking to join a well-respected branch of NFU Mutual with the opportunity for future development within our business.

Full training in a friendly and supportive environment, will be provided.

Duties include:

· Deal with insurance claims within your authority, for all customers, in accordance with NFU Mutual claims standards

· Maintain contact with clients throughout the life of their claim to ensure excellent customer service standards throughout and uphold NFU Mutual’s excellent reputation for claims service

· Investigate, consult on and process claims, within licensed authority, applying criteria to prevent loss and fraud

· Acquire and maintain knowledge of both NFU Mutual and NFU Mutual’s General Insurance products, including product licences and competencies for your role as applicable.

· Support the Branch to maintain required levels of customer service within authority limits and to contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Branch.

· Maintain record keeping requirements for your role in accordance with NFU Mutual standards.

· Perform other duties or projects as assigned by Managers.

· Administer all customer instructions to meet NFU Mutual completion and compliance standards

· Produce correspondence to required timeframes and quality standards

Desired skills:

· Be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal

· Be able to demonstrate problem solving skills and use your own judgement

· Demonstrate attributes of honesty, integrity, due skill, care and diligence at all times.

· Possess good IT Skills (particularly Outlook, Word & Excel)

· Develop and sustain effective working relationships where applicable with customers, the Agency team and relevant NFU Mutual staff.

· Ability to demonstrate and evidence appropriate level/s of education applicable for the role

· Have a flexible and open attitude

· Be prompt, reliable and trustworthy

· Be highly organised and able to work to deadlines

This position is based in our Stafford office.

Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 depending on experience

Holidays: 23 days moving to 25 days after the completion of two years’ service.

Holiday Trading Scheme: The opportunity to buy or sell 3 days holiday per year will be available after successful completion of a probationary period.

Working week:

Monday – Friday 8.30am till 5pm

Total hours per week: 37.5

Qualifications required:

Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above

IT GCSE or equivalent
