Job Summary
To learn and develop the skills as a Fire & Security Engineer by attending training courses and undertaking work on customer sites installing, maintaining and servicing of fire/security and other specialist systems. To carry out major remedial work in accordance with work schedules and targets in a manner consistent with good HSEQ practices.
Responsibilities
- · Meeting customer representatives and forming good working relationships with peers and customers.
- Learn the practice of installing and maintaining systems to standards and/or accreditations held by Nucore (as defined in work instructions).
- Develop the knowledge to test and commission systems.
- As directed, ensure company records are completed in a timely manner (largely IMS records and timesheets)
- Under instruction, ensure test equipment is made available for certification where appropriate.
- Learn and put into practice knowledge of tools and equipment – ensuring that these are complete and adequate to conduct the work and in good order – with particular attention to HSEQ implications.
- The scope of the work will include to learn and develop the ability to carry out installation, test, commissioning and maintenance/service of the following (but not limited to) types of system:
- Fire
- Intruder
- CCTV
- Access Control
- Emergency Lighting
- Other related services
- Actively participate in company competence and performance management procedures
NB – Due to the nature of work carried out within the Fire & Security division, the successful applicant will be required to undergo background and criminal record checks.
Education, Training and Qualifications
Essential
- Academic achievement to standard level that allows commencement of employment
Desirable
- SVQ Level II Performing Engineering Operations
- Electricity at Work - Safe Isolation Awareness
- ECS CSC Card
- PASMA Tower User
- IPAF 3a & 3b
- FIA Access to FD&A
- GENT Vigilon Basic Commissioning
Pay: £15.00-£15.69 per hour
