Production Shift Manager – Wholesale Sandwich Manufacturing
Location: Aberdeen City
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, Sunday – Thursday (4am – 13:00 pm)
Reporting To: Senior Management Team and Director
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Shift Manager to lead our Sandwich manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while leading and developing a team in a fast-paced food production environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with experience in food manufacturing who thrives in a high-volume production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all production activities during the shift to ensure daily output targets are met.
- Lead, motivate, and develop production team members to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to maintain efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Ensure products are manufactured to customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Monitor labour utilisation, productivity, waste levels, and operational costs.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, equipment breakdowns, and quality concerns.
- Work closely with Technical Manager
- Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Team Manager role within food manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP principles.
- Experience managing production targets.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within a sandwich, ready-to-eat, bakery, or chilled food manufacturing environment.
- Food Safety qualification (Level 3 or above).
- Health & Safety qualification
- First Aid Certification
