About the Role
Do you have a practical, hands-on approach and a good eye for detail? We have a great part-time opportunity at Leonards Cove Holiday Park for someone who takes pride in doing things properly.
As our Holiday Park Safety Checker, you’ll carry out daily and weekly safety checks across the park — making sure everything from smoke alarms to hot tubs, fencing to fire extinguishers, is inspected, recorded, and reported. It’s a varied outdoor role that plays a vital part in keeping our guests and staff safe.
The role is approximately 15 hours per week year-round, with the possibility of additional hours available during the summer season supporting wider park operations.
The Details
- Pay: £12.75 per hour
- Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week (year-round core hours, with additional hours available in summer)
- Days: Includes changeover days (typically Monday and Friday) plus regular weekday checks
- Location: Leonards Cove Holiday Park, Stoke Fleming, Devon
- Contract: Part-time, permanent
- A full, valid UK driving licence is essential
What You’ll Be Doing
On Changeover Days
- Test smoke alarms in all accommodation units and record results
- Check and log hot and cold water temperatures for Legionella compliance
- Walk units to spot and report any safety concerns
Regular Checks Throughout the Week
- Test hot tub chemical levels and record findings
- Inspect park fencing, roads, and pathways for damage or hazards
- Carry out vehicle safety checks across the park fleet
- Check and manage waste bins — repositioning, flagging issues, or reporting as needed
- Inspect camping electrical hook-up points for safety and condition
- Check ladders are undamaged and correctly stored
- Ensure all fire extinguishers are in place, undamaged, and within service dates
Recording & Reporting
- Log all checks and findings on our H&S app (full training provided)
- Report any defects or hazards to management promptly
What We’re Looking For
No formal H&S qualifications are needed — we’ll train you on everything. What matters most is that you’re:
- Reliable and thorough — someone who won’t cut corners
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- Happy using a smartphone or tablet app to record your checks
- Physically able to walk the park and carry out practical inspections
- The holder of a full, valid UK driving licence (essential)
