Job Summary
As a Pump Assembler/Test Engineer you be tasked with all aspects of building and testing new pumps and subassemblies and the servicing of Customers pumps to a tight JIT schedule.
Job Duties
- Adhere to all EHS instructions by keeping safe and using all PPE defined at all times
- Follows procedures on what is required to produce good quality components in a timely manner
- To seek advice/support if required or unsure before any work commences
- Picking a kit of parts from documentation supplied. The kit may be a sub assembly, spares kit or a pump
- Some sub-assemblies may require some manual machining [ diaphragms]
- Build new pumps from a kit of parts supplied to meet the build requirements of the customer as well as meeting the build target for the schedule for that day.
- Pump Testing and recording of information required
- Provide feedback to Production Manager on suggested improvements that may help to optimise procedures.
- Good communication with Manager or colleagues and collaboration with the team
- Updates Manager on an ongoing basis and supports daily production review.
- Identifies and solves issues that arise while manufacturing parts.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Experience, Education, and Certifications:
- 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- GCSE or equivalent - Maths, English and Science
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong mechanical skills
- Working Knowledge of materials
- Ability to understand and communicate mechanical issues.
- Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy through attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining an individual workload.
- Ability to multi-task and achieve tight deadlines.
- Identifies and solves issues that arise while manufacturing components.
- Advises Production Supervisor of tools required or suggested enhancements to optimise work.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- Good mobility to ensure safe loading and unloading of machine components using relevant manual handling techniques and equipment
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, and reach in large, high and/or tight spaces.
- Ability to lift at least 25kg
