Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Hod Carrier/Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with various manual tasks on-site, supporting skilled tradespeople in the completion of masonry, bricklaying, and other building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within the construction industry and gain practical experience working with a range of tools and materials.
Initially required for our sites at Elsenham for Bloors Homes & Stowmarket for Hopkins Homes.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the transportation and positioning of bricks, mortar, and other building materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Support bricklayers, masons, carpenters, roofers, and welders by providing necessary materials and equipment.
- Prepare work areas by clearing debris and setting up scaffolding or safety barriers as required.
- Operate basic hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and levels to aid in construction tasks.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently to ensure smooth workflow on-site.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with general site maintenance including cleaning tools and equipment after use.
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or labouring roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- * Valid CSCS Card (essential).
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, masonry techniques, carpentry, roofing, or welding is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake on-the-job training.
- Good organisational skills and attention to safety procedures are essential for success in this role.
